Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is hiring a part-time Diet Clerk to support patient meal services and medical staff. You will assist patients with menu selections, communicate with the dietitians, and help maintain confidentiality and accuracy of tray tickets.

The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication with patients and families, and basic computer skills to document orders and coordinate care across the patient care team.

Qualifications

• Education: High school Graduate or equivalent highly preferred. Additional college training in Dietetics or related field preferred. Must know how to read, write and speak English.
• Experience: Previous health care experience or demonstrated knowledge of dietetics and medical terminology preferred
• Knowledgeable in Basic Computer Skills

Responsibilities

• Visits all patients as assigned assisting the patient or family member with menu selections.
• Responds to patient needs, requests in a timely manner
• Maintains patient confidentiality
• Communicates pertinent clinical information to the Clinical Dietitian and appropriate members of the patient care team.
• Establishes and maintains strong positive communication with patients and families.
• Checks patient tray tickets against electronic medical record to ensure that tray ticket is accurate and consistent with diet order and patient preferences.
