Job summary

Covenant Health's Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge is hiring a Food Service Worker / Diet Clerk in the Food Services department. In this full-time role, you will be the main link between patients, nursing staff, and the food service team, accurately processing meal requests and ensuring patients' diet needs are met.

A high school diploma is required and at least six months of clerical experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or its equivalent is required with coursework in English, mathematics and grammar.
• Must read with comprehension, write legibly, and perform simple arithmetic.
• Experience with general office practices and excellent telephone skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary communication link between patients, nursing staff and Food Services.
• Accurately process meal requests and ensure patient dietary needs are met.
• Take patient meal orders in person or by phone using formal departmental procedures.
• Collect and maintain patient food preferences and place meal orders.
• Prepare nourishments and supplements as needed.
• Generate reports and perform other duties as assigned.
