Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Nutrition Services Liaison to coordinate inpatient meal service, assist clinical teams, and ensure high-quality patient dining experiences. You will round on patients for meal satisfaction, manage inventory, and support meal ordering using nutrition software.

The role emphasizes patient advocacy, effective communication with units and staff, and ensuring compliance with meal presentation and production standards across assigned units.

Qualifications

• ANSI Accredited Food Handler Training within 30 days
• Customer service experience

Responsibilities

• Answers patient inquiries about menus, diet restrictions, and meal preparation.
• Acts as a patient advocate, addressing concerns and escalating issues as needed.
• Communicates effectively with staff and patients, maintaining open communication and resolving customer service issues.
• Maintains floor nourishment center food inventory, delivers nutrition supplies to units, and performs other duties as assigned.
• Assists patients with meal ordering process utilizing nutrition software.
• Assists with delivery and collection of patient meal trays.
• Documents meal consumption appropriately.
• Performs meal satisfaction rounds with patients.
• Utilizes tray assessments to ensure accuracy, presentation and production standards are met.
• Assists in the development of coordinating interventions and corrective actions to meet the needs of the patients and families.
• Acts as the direct link between clinical units and the Food & Nutrition department.
• Deliver patient meal trays. Inventory and stock patient nourishment centers. Perform patient satisfaction meal rounds. Document meal consumption.
