Job summary

Carle Health in Urbana, IL is seeking a Nutrition Services Liaison to support inpatient meal service coordination and act as the main link between units and the Food & Nutrition Services department.

You will assist with patient meal ordering, deliver and collect trays, perform meal satisfaction rounds, and help ensure accurate presentation and production standards while delivering high-level customer service to patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• Certifications: ANSI Accredited Food Handler Training within 30 days
• Work Experience: Customer service

Responsibilities

• Answers patient inquiries about menus, diet restrictions, and meal preparation.
• Acts as a patient advocate, addressing concerns and escalating issues as needed.
• Communicates effectively with staff and patients, maintaining open communication and resolving customer service issues.
• Maintains floor nourishment center food inventory, delivers nutrition supplies to units, and performs other duties as assigned.
• Assists patients with meal ordering process utilizing nutrition software.
• Assists with delivery and collection of patient meal trays.
• Documents meal consumption appropriately.
• Performs meal satisfaction rounds with patients.
• Utilizes tray assessments to ensure accuracy, presentation and production standards are met.
• Assists in the development of coordinating interventions and corrective actions to meet the needs of the patients and families.
• Acts as the direct link between clinical units and the Food & Nutrition department.
• Deliver patient meal trays. Inventory and stock patient nourishment centers. Perform patient satisfaction meal rounds. Document meal consumption.
