Job summary

Cantex Continuing Care Network is seeking a Cook/Assistant Chef to prepare patient meals in a sanitized healthcare kitchen, ensuring adherence to menus, schedules, and safety standards. The role supports nutrition services and may involve training PIE staff and overseeing equipment care.

Qualified candidates will hold a current state Food Manager Certificate and have experience in healthcare food production. Strong English communication is required to interact with staff and patients.

Qualifications

• Current state Food Manager Certificate.
• Experience in quality food preparation and production in healthcare settings preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare or direct preparation of food items per scheduled menus.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment, workspaces, and storage areas.
• Label, date, and store food items/leftovers properly.
• Monitor food temperatures and log as required.
• Assist in training Nutrition Services staff when assigned as PIE.
