Job summary

Vail Health is seeking an Intake Specialist at the Edwards campus to be the first point of contact for patients, visitors and staff. You will assist with pre-registration and admit-registration, coordinating with the Intake & Admissions Coordinator and hospital teams to ensure a smooth transition to care.

The role requires flexibility in a high-acuity environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with responsibilities spanning registration, crisis management, safety checks,

Qualifications

• One year of experience in behavioral health, healthcare, admitting, clerical, customer service, or hospitality.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Must have typing and computer skills for online learning and forms.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify information to streamline admissions.
• Assist with crisis management and de-escalation as part of the team.
• Perform safety checks and belongings searches; identify unsafe situations and escalate.
• Communicate clearly with patients, visitors, providers, and staff via in-person, email, phone, or Teams.
