Job summary

LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, MN is seeking a claims processor who reviews and processes insurance forms for inpatient and outpatient services, assisting customers with claim status questions and monitoring workflow to ensure timely payments.

You will obtain missing information, submit to secondary payers when needed, follow up on denials, and collaborate with coders on trends and process improvements, while supporting patients and contributing to our patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with insurance claims preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem solving abilities.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and process all insurance forms for inpatient and outpatient services to payers by monitoring WQs daily.
• Obtain missing insurance information for any open accounts via websites or phone calls.
• Run necessary reports for batches and submit claims to secondary insurance when appropriate.
• Review WQs for outstanding or denied claims and follow up with calls or make necessary adjustments to re-submit claims in a timely manner.
• Assist patients with problems concerning their accounts and provide pertinent information.
• Obtain information for Liability and Workers Comp claims and provide data for WC Interventions.
• Work with coders on denial trends and potential process improvements.
• Actively search for updates to insurance billing practices and implement new changes.
