Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital is seeking a Patient Guest Services Assistant I to be a friendly, helpful face for patients, families and visitors. You will greet people, provide directions, arrange wheelchairs, verify appointment details and offer concierge services to help guests access information and amenities within the hospital.

You'll work various day/evening/night shifts, including weekends, and collaborate with hospital leaders to enhance the patient experience while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic computer skills including Epic and Outlook.
• Two years of customer service experience with face-to-face interaction.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, families and visitors and provide directions and assistance.
• Assist with obtaining wheelchairs and basic transport for guests.
• Access patient information to confirm appointment times and locations.
• Provide concierge services to help guests access information and amenities.
• Collaborate with various leaders to improve the patient experience.
• Identify and report safety, maintenance, and cleaning needs.
• Respond to emergencies (Code Blue/Code Red) as required.
• Coordinate patient needs with other departments.

The Patient Guest Services Assistant I, serves as a highly visible brand ambassador and resource to patients, family members and visitors by facilitating a warm, caring, comfortable and informed experience at Main Campus.

A caregiver in this position works variable day/evening/night/weekend shifts, 7:00am—7:30pm or 9:00am—6:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Ensure patients, family members and visitors have peace of mind by utilizing the Communicate with H.E.A.R.T. models, setting expectations and delivering empathetic care.
• Greet, welcome and assist patients, guests, and colleagues by aiding, providing campus directions, obtaining wheelchairs and providing minimal transport.
• Access patient information to confirm appointment times, appointment locations and room numbers.
• Provide some concierge services to assist patients and guests with accessing Internet information (driving directions, restaurants, shopping, and amenities) in the hospital and within the community.
• Collaborate with leaders across the health system to design and implement improvement programs to enhance the overall patient experience.
• Correct and/or report safety, maintenance, and cleaning needs.
• Respond to Code Blue and Code Red emergencies with appropriate equipment.
• Coordinate patient needs with other departments.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic computer skills (e.g., Epic, outlook, and other internal systems)
• Two years of experience in a customer service role with at least one year providing face-to-face customer service

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Associate’s Degree

Physical Requirements

• Normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech.

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $16.50

Maximum hourly: $16.50
