Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy experience required or in a pharmacy technician training program.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, members and other health care personnel and initiates service transactions.
• Refers inquiries regarding patient-care to pharmacist.
• Inputs patient and prescription information to produce labels and assist in filling prescriptions.
• Matches prescriptions with labels and prepares for pharmacist checking.
• May prepare unit dose medications in hospital settings as trained.
• Processes drug requisitions and replenishes stock to fixed levels.
• Fills unit dose cassettes and distributes inventory as needed.
• Assists with medication and OTC product dispensing and cash collection.
• Picks up and delivers medications and supplies per schedule.
• Calculates price and collects payments for services.
• Balances cash, checks and card transactions daily and prepares deposits.
• Gathers data for reports and maintains price lists.
• Maintains drugs and supplies levels and ensures equipment operates properly.
