Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to perform semi-technical and clerical duties. You will fill, package and provide medication, restock to fixed levels and assist in prescription filling under pharmacist supervision, while following applicable policies and state/federal regulations.

Cashier duties for all transactions may also be involved. Greet patients and health care staff, input patient and prescription data, prepare labels, verify accuracy, and support unit-dose

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy experience required or in a pharmacy technician training program.
• Complete Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 2 years of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, members and other health care personnel in caring, helpful manner and initiates service transactions using proper forms and process.
• Assists with inputting patient and prescription information to produce labels and to assist in prescription filling process.
• Matches prescriptions with labels. Selects proper drug and quantity to be dispensed, fills container, applies labels and presents completed product to pharmacist for checking.
• Calculates price for prescriptions or order. Sells non-prescription drugs. Collects cash, check, or credit card payments for all collectible services.
• Balances monies, checks, and credit card charge documents daily against cash register receipts.
