Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy experience required or in a pharmacy technician training program.
• Demonstrated ability to safely handle and/or prepare compounds.
• Adaptability, customer service, oral communication, multi-tasking, teamwork, and written communication.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and database PC applications.
• Reading, writing, speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, members and health care personnel and initiates service transactions.
• Directs inquiries to pharmacist for patient-care discussions.
• Inputs patient and prescription information to produce labels and assist in filling prescriptions.
• Matches prescriptions with labels and dispenses under pharmacist supervision.
• Prepares unit-dose medications and handles hospital/clinic drug requisitions when applicable.
• Maintains unit dose cassettes and stock levels, replenishing as needed.
• Assists with medication and OTC product distribution and collects payments when required.
• Picks up and delivers medications and supplies per schedule.
• Calculates prescription prices and processes payments and receipts.
• Balances cash and reconciles daily transactions; prepares bank deposits.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent related experience

Pharmacy Technician Certificate of Registration (Hawaii)

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification
