Qualifications

• Minimum of one-year strong guest service skills (internal/external)
• High School Graduate /GED or equivalent experience
• Strong communicator and listener to guests and associates.
• Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, caring, patient)
• Sales skills
• Knowledge of store merchandise
• Familiarity with cash register, computers and calculators

Responsibilities

• Greets guests without delay when they enter the store and shows urgency in providing service.
• Determines the reason for the guest's visit and explains how to shop at Target Optical and the required paperwork, tests, products and services.
• Reviews prescriptions and patient information, identifying special needs and consulting with Opticians, Doctor or Retail Management when necessary.
• Maintains patient records in an organized and efficient manner.
• Places contact lens orders, processes shipments and submits invoices for payment.
• Operates the POS system when required and handles payments.
• Keeps displays clean, attractive and organized.
• Performs pre-examination testing with accuracy and explains measurements to patients.
• Provides coaching on contact lens care and handling, and supports the Optometrist as needed.
