Rhode Island Children's Dentistry & Orthodontics is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Coordinator to manage patient billing, insurance coordination, and financial communications. You will work with front office and clinical teams to ensure accurate insurance information and transparent patient financial discussions.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dental, medical, or healthcare financial coordination preferred.
• Experience with dental insurance and benefits verification preferred.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, insurance claims, and patient billing processes.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable discussing financial responsibilities and payment options with patients.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility.
• Obtain and document accurate insurance and patient financial information.
• Review treatment plans and explain estimated patient financial responsibilities.
• Communicate treatment costs, payment options, and available financing options to patients and families.
• Collect copayments, deductibles, balances, and other patient payments.
• Process payments accurately and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Assist with insurance claims, pre-authorizations, and follow-up as needed.
• Monitor outstanding patient balances and assist with collection efforts.
• Work with insurance companies to resolve claim issues and obtain necessary information.
• Maintain accurate patient financial records in accordance with office policies and procedures.
• Answer patient questions regarding insurance coverage, billing, statements, and account balances.
• Coordinate with the clinical team to ensure treatment plans and financial information are accurately communicated.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and other applicable privacy requirements.
• Support scheduling, check-in, check-out, and other front office responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming front office environment.
