Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health’s Winchester Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse on the Patient Flow, Admissions & Discharge team. The role focuses on coordinating admissions and discharges across hospital areas to improve patient flow and support bedside nurses in delivering direct care.

Flexible full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Massachusetts RN license and 2 years of clinical nursing experience required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or state-approved Registered Nursing program.
• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Two years of clinical nursing experience.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to providing safe, compassionate, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive patient admission assessments and documentation.
• Perform medication reconciliation and identify potential medication-related concerns.
• Coordinate and facilitate timely patient admissions and discharges.
• Provide individualized patient and family education regarding hospitalization, care plans, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, case managers, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to support effective care transitions.
• Advance patient throughput initiatives and care coordination efforts.
• Help reduce administrative demands on bedside nursing teams, creating greater capacity for direct patient care.
• Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and patient-centered excellence throughout the hospitalization journey.
