Job summary

Savista is recruiting an Eligibility Specialist II to advocate for patients, helping uninsured or underinsured individuals access financial assistance for medical care and guiding them through Medicaid, Medicare, and charity programs.

This hybrid, full-time role may include in-home visits and coverage across Reno, NV locations, with travel up to 20% and a schedule that supports business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish.
• At least 2 years of customer-facing experience, preferably in healthcare or financial counseling.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% and travel within the service area.
• Ability to work at multiple hospital locations and in-home visits as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with empathy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced eligibility screening in-person and remotely.
• Perform in-home patient visits to assist with eligibility applications.
• Facilitate applications for Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and charity care.
• Liaise between patients, hospital staff, and government agencies to establish eligibility and funding.
• Follow up on applications to ensure timeliness and completeness.
• Assist with disability programs, appointments, appeals, and resolution tracking.
• Manage multiple cases independently and prioritize to meet deadlines.
• Explain funding options and program details to patients clearly and empathetically.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records and report data across systems.
