Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• Two years' healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding helpful
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing
• BLS (CPR) training renewal every 2 years
• CPI training for all staff during orientation and retraining annually

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance coverage for inpatient or outpatient services.
• Interview patients to verify demographic and insurance data accuracy.
• Prepare billing packets and apply patient payments to accounts.
• Balance outpatient and inpatient daily statistics and update reports.
• Provide financial counseling and explain patient responsibility and payment options.
