Job summary

Qualifications

• Patient Access Specialist certification (CPAS) required within 1 year of employment.
• 1 year insurance/clerical experience within a hospital or medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients for demographic and financial information.
• Verify insurance benefits and determine pre-certifications and referrals.
• Pre-register patients for upcoming visits and collect demographics and financial data.
• Explain patient financial responsibility and set up payment arrangements when needed.
• Follow up on insurance denials and appeals as needed.
