Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist to support hospital clinics and outpatient areas. You will screen accounts, take referrals, verify insurance eligibility and benefits, and assist patients with financial obligations to the organization.

Responsibilities include setting up payment arrangements, providing expertise in routine third-party reimbursement, responding to insurance and patient inquiries, and coordinating with the office team to meet pre-payment guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years healthcare and/or insurance/third party reimbursement or three years of administrative customer service experience.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in business administration, healthcare or related field OR equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Knowledge of hospital and/or professional revenue cycle processes required.
• Ability to work with diverse customer base through effective verbal and written communication required.
• Multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities required.
• Strong knowledge of computer-based programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Screen accounts and take referrals.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefit information.
• Assist patients with requirements to meet their financial obligations to the organization.
• Complete cost estimates and set up payment arrangements.
• Provide expertise in routine third party reimbursement.
• Respond to insurance and patient inquiries (verbal or written).
• Will require 3 days in Office / 2 days optional remote site dependent.
