Geisinger Behavioral Health Danville is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Counselor to support the Business Office. The role ensures accurate verification of benefits, assists with billing, and helps patients navigate financial obligations with compassion.

Responsibilities include auditing admissions, collecting copays and deductibles, and preparing charity and payment documents. Strong knowledge of commercial insurance and Medicare/Medicaid is essential.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years' experience in related field.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of Commercial Insurance and Medicare/Medicaid.

• Audit admission packets and verify benefits and demographics in the patient accounting system.
• Provide financial counseling to patients/guarantors and collect out-of-pocket costs.
• Complete financial disclosure paperwork, verify income/expenses when requesting assistance.
• Own adjustment forms for charity or admin adjustments for approval.
• Prepare promissory notes for payment arrangements.
• Update upfront collection, charity and admin adjustment logs; review weekly.
• Analyze system data to determine actions to secure payment.
