Intermountain Health is seeking a Patient Financial Advocate in Billings, MT to provide billing counseling, verify insurance, and assist patients with financial assistance programs. You will help determine eligibility for Medicaid, charity care, and other forms of support, guiding patients through applications and payment arrangements.

The role requires experience in healthcare revenue cycle, strong communication skills, and meticulous confidentiality adherence.

Formación

• Demonstrated experience in healthcare revenue cycle, patient access or other customer service role.
• Knowledge of the Affordable Care Act, Insurance billing, medical terminology, and reimbursement practices.
• Interpreting insurance Explanation of Benefits.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic health record systems, internet and email.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and regulations.
• Demonstrate compassion, empathy and respect for patients and families.

Responsabilidades

• Provides financial counseling and assistance to patients and families, explaining insurance coverage, benefits and costs.
• Identifies and facilitates the application of financial assistance programs.
• Completes and submits applications to DHS or MA Site and follows up.
• Obtains and verifies insurance information, authorizations, and referrals.
• Reviews and updates patient accounts for accuracy.
• Follows up with patients, providers, and insurers to resolve billing issues.
• Educates patients on financial obligations and billing policies.
• Documents all activities in the EHR.
• Collaborates with departments to ensure smooth patient experience.
