Qualifications

• Experience in patient financial counseling or collections preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians and staff.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a possibly stressful environment.
• HIPAA training is required/expected.

Responsibilities

• Verify benefits and/or eligibility of patients that are scheduled to be seen.
• Take incoming calls from patients and answer benefits and/or financial responsibility questions.
• Make outgoing calls to patients to review financial estimates and/or balances for scheduled appointments and procedures.
• Email or mail financial estimates to patients as required or requested.
• Speak to patients about their account and balance, and schedule or reschedule appointments as needed.
• Make outgoing calls to insurance companies to check benefits and eligibility.
