RWJBarnabas Health is hosting a Financial Counselor Hiring Event at our Corporate Services location in Somerset, NJ. The role focuses on helping patients secure financial coverage for hospital services and acting as an advocate across care teams.

Shifts are day-time, full-time (37.5 hours/week) with potential weekend coverage. We seek candidates with superb communication, empathy, and basic healthcare billing knowledge. Event details and interviews will be conducted with invited applicants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Creole preferred.
• Computer skills and basic financial literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with charity care and Medicaid eligibility.
• Provide financial counseling and create financial estimates.
• Explain billing processes and help patients navigate payment options.
• Collaborate with social work, case management, and clinical teams.
