A high school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience are expected, with opportunities to grow through the Practice Associate Career Ladder.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.
• Intermediate knowledge/proficiency of Medical Terminology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with a culturally diverse staff and patient population.
• Working proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) or similar software.

Aufgaben

• Greet patients and visitors & answer patient telephone calls promptly.
• Review the daily and weekly schedule to ensure accuracy of visit provider, duration, insurance status, reason, and type; resolve issues with limited patient involvement.
• Obtain registration and intake information; verify/update insurance eligibility in the EHR; indicate arrivals, cancellations, and no-shows.
• Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and other tests; obtain prior authorizations as needed.
• Coordinate and schedule office visits and procedures; prepare requisitions.
• May collect time-of-service payments and balance the cash drawer in the EHR.
• Communicate insurance participation and financial responsibility to patients.
• May rotate to other sites as needed; assist Supervisor/Manager with special projects.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
