Job summary

Akumin is a leading outpatient radiology and oncology provider seeking a Patient Coordinator for our Orlando facility. This full-time role includes greeting patients, registering them in systems, handling phone inquiries, and assisting with insurance verification and post-procedure instructions.

The position requires a high school diploma, CPR before hire, and a valid driver’s license. Bilingual Spanish is a plus. Travel to multiple sites may be needed, with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• Valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations as needed.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Perform patient registration in various systems.
• Answer phone calls professionally and courteously.
• May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• May verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
• May prepare medical records for physicians and patients.
• Ensure accuracy of patient records across electronic and written documents.
• Provide patients with preliminary and post-procedure instructions.
