Job summary

Cape Cod Orthopaedics is seeking a friendly, precise Patient Services Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients at our Sandwich, MA office. You will register new patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and coordinate with clinicians to ensure smooth patient flow.

You will handle payments and co-pays, maintain accurate EMR records, and protect patient privacy in line with HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a medical office, orthopedic practice, or healthcare customer service preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and medical scheduling software preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent customer service with a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
• Register new patients and update demographic and insurance information accurately.
• Answer and direct incoming calls while addressing patient questions and concerns.
• Collect co-pays and balances, and process payments per office policies.
• Maintain accurate EMR and ensure patient information is up to date.
• Coordinate with physicians and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow.
• Protect patient privacy and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
