Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• Valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations; local travel may be required.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Six months of customer service or related experience and/or training preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Perform patient registration in various systems.
• Answers all phone calls professionally and courteously.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when needed.
• Schedule patient appointments and document visits in electronic records.
• Transport patients to/from exam rooms and assist with transfers.
• Provide preliminary and post-procedure instructions to patients.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and stock supplies.
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant documentation of patient visits.

This will be a PRN position.** The **Patient Coordinator** is responsible for performing a variety of customer service and patient care tasks to ensure a positive patient experience. Ensures documentation and patient records are prepared and organized. Ensures patients have a clear understanding of what to expect during and after their appointment.**Specific duties include, but are not limited to:*** Greets and assists patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.* Will perform patient registration in various systems.* Answers all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.* May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.* May be responsible for verifying insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization. Patient Assistance:* May perform preliminary screening of patients prior to procedures, which may include medical history.* May transport patient to/from the exam room.* May assist in patient transfer on/off the exam table.* May transport patient to/from the exam room.* May provide the patient with preliminary and post-procedure instructions. Work Area & Supply Preparation* In the mobile setting, may assist in preparing the unit for transport.* Will maintain a clean and organized work area.* May order supplies and ensure the work area is properly stocked. Documentation* Will ensure accuracy of patient records.* May schedule patient appointments and obtain insurance verification and/or authorization.* May prepare medical records for physicians, patients and customers.* Ensures accurate documentation of patient visits in various electronic* systems and on written documents.* May assist the clinical staff with documentation and image delivery to the patient, physician, or contracted customer.* Performs all duties within HIPAA regulations.* Other duties as assigned. **Position Requirements:*** High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.* For Mobile Radiology and Oncology, CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire.* For Fixed Radiology, CPR Certification is a plus.* As applicable, valid state driver's license required.* Ability to work at several locations required.* Strong customer service skills.* Organizational and multi-tasking skills.* Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.* Local travel may be required to support multiple sites.* The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.* All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment. **Preferred*** Six months customer service or related experience and/or training.* Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.* Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
