Job summary

ProgressiveHealth is seeking a friendly Patient Experience Specialist to join our Jasper, IN, in-office team. The role handles front desk duties, appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, insurance verification, and coordination with physicians to ensure accurate referrals and timely visits.

No prior experience required; healthcare exposure is a plus. This full-time daytime position offers benefits, PTO, and opportunities for growth within our expanding organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of related experience and/or training.
• Past medical office experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout the shift.
• Professional written and verbal communication.
• Strong computer skills with databases and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling and recapturing appointments, missing in action patients, and pro-actively rescheduling appointments.
• Registering patients (check-in/out) and ensuring information is complete and accurate.
• Coordinating with patient and/or referring physician to obtain referrals.
• Documenting referrals as directed in logs.
• Scheduling initial evaluations and follow-up visits to yield optimal visits.
• Verifying patient insurance in advance for prior authorizations.
• Educating patients about coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Collecting co-pays, deductibles, and other payments.
• Answering incoming calls professionally and taking messages as needed.
• Other duties related to clinic operations as assigned.
