Job summary

UTMB Health is seeking a Patient Services Specialist I to enhance the patient experience by coordinating clerical and medical activities, handling patient registrations, and facilitating access to UTMB services for new and returning patients.

The role emphasizes high-level customer service, accurate information gathering, appointment scheduling, and maintaining patient confidentiality in a busy hospital environment. On-site hours and 19.99 hours per week apply.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree with no experience; or equivalent education/experience.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire and maintained during employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides high level customer service in all interactions with internal and external customers.
• Answers calls accurately with exceptional customer service.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and handles sensitive information securely.
• Pre-registers patients and verifies demographics and third‑party coverage.
• Coordinates appointment scheduling and patient access to UTMB services.
