Firelands Health seeks a Medical Receptionist for the PRN, Days role in Sandusky. The receptionist will greet patients and visitors, route calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance, obtain pre-authorizations, and support billing and records with accuracy.

The position requires a high school diploma, CPR certification, and computer proficiency. On-site, part-time hours with a patient-centered focus and opportunities for growth are available in a supportive, employee-centric environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational education preferred.
• Experience in a medical ambulatory setting is preferred.
• Current CPR certification or obtained within 3 months of employment and maintained.
• Proficient with personal computers; strong typing skills; Microsoft Office suite desired.
• Eligibility to work in the United States; annual health/Safety testing requirements.
• Must have valid Ohio driver's license and insurable under Firelands auto policy.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, vendors and visitors and notify staff of arrivals.
• Operate telephone console to route calls and place outgoing calls.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify insurance information.
• Obtain and verify current insurance coverage; obtain pre-authorizations as needed.
• Maintain daily records for timely billing and communicate account status to patients.
