Firelands Health is seeking a patient-oriented receptionist at Sandusky Healthcare Center to greet patients and visitors, route calls, schedule appointments, and verify insurance information. The role supports billing, referrals, and front-desk operations across the site.

You will work in a patient-centered environment, with a focus on accurate records, timely communication, and adherence to health and safety guidelines. A 90-day introductory period applies.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; vocational preferred.
• Experience in medical ambulatory setting.
• Current CPR certification or within 3 months.
• Proficient in personal computers with strong typing skills; MS Outlook/Excel/Word desired.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and auto insurance proof upon request.
• 90-day introductory period.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, vendors, and visitors; notify staff of arrival.
• Operate telephone console; route calls and place outgoing calls.
• Schedule patient appointments; obtain and verify insurance information.
• Obtain pre-certifications or prior authorizations as needed.
• Maintain daily records for timely billing; inform patients of balances.
• Assist with referrals, billing, and collections; support multiple practice sites.
• Answer phones pleasantly and direct calls per clinic guidelines.
• Maintain waiting area, inventory, and patient communication tools.
