Sandusky Healthcare Center at Firelands Health in Sandusky, OH is seeking a friendly front desk/clinic receptionist to greet patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments and assist with billing processes. You will handle calls, coordinate referrals in the EMR, collect co-pays and maintain accurate records.

The role requires a high school diploma, CPR certification, and proficiency with MS Office; prior ambulatory care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; vocational education preferred.
• CPR certification required or obtained within 3 months
• Proficient with personal computers; strong typing; familiarity with Outlook, Excel and Word desired.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and compliance with health screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, vendors and visitors and route to appropriate staff
• Schedule patient appointments and obtain/verify insurance information
• Collect co-pays and post payments; process forms needing signatures
• Obtain prior authorizations and manage referrals in the EMR
• Maintain daily records for timely billing and AR; support Central Billing Office
• Answer phones pleasantly and direct calls per clinic guidelines
• Keep waiting area clean and organized and manage inventory of supplies
