Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients. You will help create a positive experience while supporting efficient office operations and exceptional patient care.

The role involves check-in, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, payment collection, and coordination with providers to ensure a smooth patient journey. No remote work; on-site in Michigan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some work permit for younger candidates may apply.
• 1–2 years of experience in a medical office or customer service preferred.
• Course work in insurance/billing or medical practice education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
• Check patients in and verify registration and insurance information.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
• Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
• Assist with patient communications, paperwork, and MyChart support.
• Maintain patient records and support day-to-day office operations.
• Partner with providers and clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient experience.
