Job summary

Duke Orthopaedics of Raleigh is seeking a Patient Service Associate to be the first point of contact for patients at check-in and check-out, assist with scheduling, and manage charge posting in a busy outpatient clinic.

This role supports daily clinic operations, verifies patient information, collects co-pays, and coordinates labs and procedures in a fast-paced environment. Monday–Friday day shifts; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience in direct patient service or public-facing role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic data entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing upcoming patients and arranging required materials.
• Check-in/check-out patients and verify information in the electronic health record.
• Educate patients on forms, collect co-pays, and handle insurance cards.
• Coordinate labs and procedures as requested and keep charts organized.
• Prepare encounter forms for accuracy prior to posting charges.
• Schedule tests and procedures and issue requisitions.
