Job summary

MercyCare North Liberty PC is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator for a full-time Day shift (Mon-Fri 7:00 am–3:00 pm with one weekend per month). The role centers on delivering friendly, patient–focused service, handling scheduling, intake, and routine office communications using EPIC.

You will collect co-pays, process referrals and insurance information, manage messages and lab paperwork, and provide clerical support to MercyCare providers.

Qualifications

• One year of medical office experience preferred.
• Two years of customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone calls in a friendly, prompt, professional manner.
• Schedules, cancels, reschedules and confirms patient visits.
• Retrieves and disburses messages from answering service and fax.
• Collects deductible/co-pays or balances at time of service using EPIC and Virtual Merchant.
• Balances charges and payments and maintains cash drawer daily.
• Schedules tests and procedures and completes related paperwork.
• Enters charges and payments timely and accurately.
• Handles routine billing questions and routes complex queries to a financial counselor.
• Registers patients in EPIC and collects demographic and insurance details.
