Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Patient Experience Analyst/Programmer to support performance improvement by building centralized data repositories, dashboards, and reports across the hospital. You will work with patient experience teams and clinical departments to transform feedback into actionable metrics.

The role requires strong data analysis, SQL/ETL skills, and the ability to communicate complex findings to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in field requiring quantitative data analysis skills.
• Three or more years of relevant experience.
• Superior organization skills, detail oriented, and ability to be persistent and follow through.
• Problem-solving, adaptability, flexible approaches, and independent creative solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially translating technical info clearly.
• Strong listening skills to gather requirements and understand barriers to project completion.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and coordinate data activities to develop a centralized clinical data repository for reporting.
• Partner with Patient Experience and other leaders to analyze feedback and data, identify improvements, and develop metrics and targets.
• Present findings to stakeholders and support patient experience improvement initiatives.
• Identify data needs from clinical staff and elicit information requirements.
• Translate requirements into high quality, actionable reports for leadership and QA teams.
• Ensure data quality by validating sources and documenting data definitions for replication.
• Guide clinical and ancillary teams in interpreting reports and vendor platforms.
