Job summary

Direct Jobs is seeking a Patient Advocate to ensure dignity and respect for patients and families in the hospital, addressing needs and providing outstanding customer service. The role includes rounds on inpatient floors and the ED to support patient experiences and coordinate with clinical teams.

Responsibilities include listening to concerns, documenting issues, coordinating with Case Management for Living Wills/POA, and ensuring timely follow-up. Multiple shifts, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Five years experience in a medical environment.
• Excellent human relations and oral, written and listening skills required.
• Knowledge of roles of each hospital department.
• Excellent patient, family and community interaction skills.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Available to patients and families to listen and provide assurance for outstanding customer service.
• Communicates concerns to licensed medical professionals to resolve patient needs.
• Documents patient complaints and follows up with Managers and Directors.
• Interfaces with departments for patient needs (financial, security, lost articles).
• Rounds on inpatients and ED to provide comfort and information; completes required documentation.
• Coordinates with Case Management for Living Wills and Healthcare POA.
• Works with care teams to assure patient comfort and care.
• Ensures leaders follow up with patients or family members as communicated.
• Assists with addressing lost patient valuables in collaboration with leaders.
