Job summary

Northeast Valley Health Corporation is seeking a Consumer Relations Coordinator I to assist patients with eligibility and connect them to third-party payer programs and health benefit services.

You will liaison between the Business Office and the Managed Care Department, ensuring smooth processing of customer inquiries and coordinating with internal teams. The role requires strong communication skills and a flexible schedule, with potential for collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years' experience solving consumer problems.
• Certified Enrollment Counselor (CEC) Certificate preferred; if not certified, training within 30 days of hire.
• Current California driver's license (Class 3), car in excellent running condition and proof of car insurance.
• Excellent oral and written skills and public speaking experience.
• Pleasant, patient oriented attitude and a professional appearance.
• Prior insurance billing experience and/or experience in or working knowledge of a managed care environment—preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment Spanish exam and demonstrate fluency in translating, reading, and writing.
• Some knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and billing codes preferred.
• Ability to utilize a personal computer with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint knowledge.
• Willing and able to work a flexible and sometimes variable schedule.
• Prior experience as a Registration Clerk, Medical Records or Consumer Relations Specialist preferred.
• The Practice Management Information access level is 2.
