Job summary

Qualifications

• 3 months of hospital food service experience.
• High School Diploma.
• Speaks and reads English.
• Ability to prioritize and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Takes patients' menu selections prior to each meal.
• Complies with dietary restrictions and modifies menus within diet orders.
• Offers alternatives for prescribed diets considering allergies and preferences.
• Assembles trays accurately according to tray tickets.
• Interacts with nursing to meet diet prescriptions.
• Completes catering rounds and retrieves trays after service.
• Maintains current patient information in assigned units.
• Assists the dietitian with monitoring NPO or calorie-counted patients.
• Reports patient-related issues to appropriate staff promptly.
