Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Catering To You - Patient Dining Associate to support our patients with menu selections and coordinate with the Food and Nutrition Department. This role emphasizes patient-focused service, accuracy, and timely meal delivery.

You will collaborate with clinical staff to accommodate dietary needs, maintain meal tray delivery, and uphold our commitment to nutritious, high-quality patient meals. Previous food service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Customer service skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
• Strong sense of accountability for improving lives of patients and caregivers.
• Exceptional focus on teamwork.
• Dedication to ongoing education.
• Ability and passion to deliver high quality care with patient focus.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate and current information for each patient on assigned unit(s).
• Demonstrates knowledge of modified diets and related restrictions, reports to Dietitian/Diet Technician.
• Assists Dietitian with monitoring patients on NPO, liquid diets, or intake recording.
• Adapts to physician-ordered modified diets and ensures timely meal service.
• Assists patients with menu selections and assembles meals for trays and delivery.
• Communicates patient-related problems to appropriate staff promptly.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
• Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
