Job summary

Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, KS is seeking a part-time Patient Dining Associate (0.5 FTE) to join the hospital dining team. You will help patients with menu selections, assemble and deliver meals, and coordinate with nursing to ensure dietary needs are met and meals are served safely and on time.

This role emphasizes patient service, accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and collaboration with dietary and care teams.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Ability to speak clearly.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and coordinate with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Determine menu alternatives for allergies, sensitivities, and dietary preferences.
• Assemble and retrieve tray meals accurately and timely from patient rooms.
• Comply with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and patient rights per policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines for handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Assist dietitians with monitoring patients on special diets.
• Communicate issues to appropriate personnel promptly and document actions as required.
