Job summary

Cantex Continuing Care Network seeks a Nutrition Services Aide to support patient dining, meal prep, and sanitation in a long-term care setting. You'll assist with tray assembly, beverage service, and nutritional support while following safety protocols and quality standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to infection prevention practices, and accurate documentation of daily meal service activities in a regulated healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Current state Food Handler Certificate.
• Experience in food service, dietary services, meal prep, and related equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, safe food handling, and infection prevention preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Assures sanitation, food safety, and quality standards are met.
• Washes and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, and tableware.
• Cleans kitchen equipment and food service equipment.
• Completes required logs and documentation.
• Prepares dining tables and patient trays with appropriate tableware and condiments.
• Assists with food preparation, meal assembly, tray line operations.
• Delivers nourishments and nutritional supplements with patient labels.
• Maintains tray tickets and updates meal service information.
• Delivers soiled linens to the laundry.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards in dietary and food service areas.
• Fills orders for between-meal nourishments and snacks.
• Wraps flatware in napkins.
• Cleans dining tables and tray line areas after meals.
• Maintains cleanliness of dishwashing areas and related spaces.
• Performs floor care duties (sweeping, mopping).
• Supports compliance with food safety standards and infection prevention.
• Attends in-services and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for patient and resident safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
