Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is hiring immediately for full time Patient Dining Associate (Dietary Aide) at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL. No experience required; training provided. 12 hour shifts with rotating weekends. $15.00 per hour.

As part of the care team, you will help patients choose meals, assemble and deliver trays, and ensure safety and accuracy in meal service while upholding HIPAA and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, as well as maneuver and push food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Determine menu alternatives for foods allergies, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences.
• Assemble meals according to patient menus and retrieve trays at scheduled times.
• Comply with federal, state, and JCAHO standards; protect patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food and cleaning work stations.
• Adhere to infection control policies and department procedures.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on restricted diets.
• Communicate issues to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports per Morrison Healthcare policies.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
