The role supports patient meal service, menu guidance, and tray assembly on units. Hours vary; weekends/holidays required. Prior food service in healthcare is a plus, with on-the-job training provided.

Pay is $23.00–$24.00 per hour; opportunity to contribute to patient care and nutritional support in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, and maneuver food delivery carts.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for allergies and preferences.
• Assemble meals per patient menu and retrieve trays on time.
• Follow HACCP, HIPAA, and infection control policies and procedures.
• Communicate problems or concerns to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
• Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as required.
