We are hiring immediately for full-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE - DIETARY AIDE positions.

Location: Brookwood Baptist Medical Center - 2010 Brookwood Medical Center Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209. Note: online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time schedules. Days and hours (12-hour shifts) may vary, including rotating weekends; more details upon interview.

Requirement: Two years of previous food service experience is preferred but not required.

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units, providing services including helping patients with menu selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate, timely, and at the right temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist patients with understanding menu options and coordinate with nursing to meet their nutritional needs.
• Work with the culinary team to accommodate allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, religious preferences, or additional inquiries.
• Manage tray tickets, assemble meals accurately and timely, and retrieve trays from patient rooms.
• Comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, JCAHO, and HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines for food handling and sanitation.
• Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on special diets or calorie counts.
• Communicate issues or concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete required reports and adhere to health and sanitation regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
