Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking staff to coordinate patient dietary services, reading and editing patient menus, and ensuring timely diet order fulfillment. The role involves direct interaction with nursing units, patients, and the Food Service Department to meet diet restrictions and enhance patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities include assembling and delivering trays, and occasionally preparing salads, desserts, beverages, and other items.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of customer service or food service experience

Job description

Responsible for communications between the nursing units and the Food Service Department in regard to patient menus, diet changes, and general patient services. Reads the patient menus to patients twice daily. Edits patient selections to meet restrictions associated with diet orders. Organizes and manages diet orders in a timely and effective manner. Develops menu tallies of special requests. Must be familiar with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Reacts accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficiency. Assembles trays for patients and delivers meal trays to patient rooms and nursing units. Occasionally, may also prepare salads, desserts, beverages and other miscellaneous food items.
