Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking staff to coordinate patient menus and diet orders within the Food Service Department. You will read menus to patients, adjust selections for diet restrictions, and ensure timely assembly and delivery of meals to patient rooms and units.

The role supports meals service, including salads, desserts, beverages and other items, and requires ensuring patient care and satisfaction through accurate dietary communication and meal preparation.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of customer service or food service experience.

Responsibilities

• Reads patient menus to patients twice daily.
• Edits patient selections to meet restrictions associated with diet orders.
• Organizes and manages diet orders in a timely and effective manner.
• Develops menu tallies of special requests.
• Assembles trays for patients and delivers meal trays to patient rooms and nursing units.

Reads the patient menus to patients twice daily. Edits patient selections to meet restrictions associated with diet orders. Organizes and manages diet orders in a timely and effective manner. Develops menu tallies of special requests. Must be familiar with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Reacts accurately and effectively to all changes to ensure efficiency. Assembles trays for patients and deliver meal trays to patient rooms and nursing units. Occasionally, may also prepare salads, desserts, beverages and other miscellaneous food items.
