Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant to support patient meals and dietary needs. You will read patient menus, adjust selections to meet diet orders, and coordinate tray assembly and delivery to patient rooms.

The role requires at least six months of customer service or food service experience and familiarity with dietary restrictions to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction. Weekend rotation is expected.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service or food service experience.
• Familiarity with dietary restrictions and modified diets.
• Reads patient menus and edits selections to meet diet orders.

Responsibilities

• Reads patient menus to patients twice daily.
• Edits patient selections to meet restrictions associated with diet orders.
• Organizes and manages diet orders in a timely and effective manner.
• Assembles trays for patients and delivers meal trays to patient rooms and nursing units.
• Occasionally prepares salads, desserts, beverages and other miscellaneous food items.
