Job summary

Kaiser Permanente seeks a dedicated Food Service Associate to prepare, assemble and deliver patient meals in partnership with Nutrition Services and nursing staff. The role uses Epic for diet orders, collects patient preferences and supports meal tray delivery and pickup at patient bedsides.

Qualified candidates have at least two years of food service experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and a Washington Food Handler Certificate.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of food service experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Food Handler Certificate (Washington) required at hire.
• Interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of special diets.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, assembles and delivers patient meals to the patient bedsides.
• Retrieves and breaks down dirty trays, washes dishes and utensils, and cleans equipment.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA and departmental policies; follows safety precautions.
• Acts as a patient-centered ambassador for Nutrition Services and Kaiser Permanente.
• Performs inventory, ordering, and sanitation tasks as needed.
