The Patient Coordinator is typically the initial contact a patient has with CIS.

Essential Duties include:

• Managing all phases of the patient encounter by entering and verifying demographic and insurance information in Source Rad, demonstrating courtesy and respect.
• Verifying all written orders against scheduled procedures, obtaining signatures, and contacting physicians for missing orders.
• Scanning and attaching physician orders, insurance cards, IDs, and forms into the patient's record.
• Collecting payments, co-pays, and deductibles prior to services, and coordinating payment arrangements if needed.
• Scheduling and registering walk-in or add-on patients, noting arrival times and insurance info.
• Understanding payment types, verifying benefits, and obtaining necessary authorizations.
• Checking faxed orders, updating records, and coordinating with radiologists and technologists regarding patient readiness.
• Updating patient information and taking initiative to learn all job functions, including medical records requests.

Performance Requirements:

• Answering calls, data entry, filing, logging, and scheduling.
• Operating office equipment such as calculators, fax machines, computers, and copiers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience & License:

• Experience preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:

• Mostly sedentary, with some physical effort (lifting up to 25 lbs), standing, walking, reaching, bending, and crouching.
