Job summary

Edina Plastic Surgery seeks a friendly, organized Patient Coordinator to join the front desk in Edina, MN. You will be the first and last point of contact, greeting patients in person, on the phone, by text, and via email to ensure a world-class experience.

You will schedule consultations, manage written communications, maintain Nextech EMR records, and collaborate with surgeons and staff to support patient care with professionalism and care.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in healthcare, customer service, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in plastic surgery, cosmetic dermatology, or aesthetics is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly in person, over the phone, by text, and via email.
  • Schedule consultations, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
  • Maintain and update patient records in the EMR system (Nextech).
  • Communicate with patients regarding procedures, pricing, and expectations.

About The Role

Position Summary

We are seeking a Patient Coordinator to join our front desk team in Edina, MN. This role is key in ensuring each patient’s journey is seamless, welcoming, and professional. As the first and last point of contact, you will set the tone for a world-class patient experience. This position also requires a substantial amount of written communication with patients through text messaging, so strong writing skills, including using professional spelling and punctuation, are essential.

  • Greet patients warmly in person, over the phone, by text, and via email.
  • Perform and manage a substantial amount of written communication with patients via text to provide timely and accurate information.
  • Schedule consultations, procedures, and follow-up appointments accurately.
  • Communicate with patients regarding procedures, pricing, and expectations.
  • Maintain and update patient records in our EMR system (Nextech).
  • Assist with new patient paperwork and intake processes.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy standards.
  • Provide thoughtful and timely follow-up to patient inquiries.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, providers, and staff to support the patient journey.
  • 3–5 years of experience in healthcare, customer service, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in plastic surgery, cosmetic dermatology, or aesthetics is highly preferred.
  • College degree preferred, but not required.
  • Organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Nextech EMR a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, including strong written ability for professional patient texts and emails.
  • Professional, respectful, and patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to perform desk-based work and communicate consistently with patients and colleagues throughout each shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to use text messaging and computer systems consistently throughout each shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
